Lottie has worked closely with Connie as an assistant trainer since 2006.
Lottie is small enough to ride and train ponies but also has the experience and confidence to ride, train and take increasing amounts of responsibility for the more challenging horses.
Her even and warm personality is ideally suited to judging when and how to progress the training of young and sensitive horses.
She is also acutely attuned to the physical and emotional well being of all the horses on the yard and takes great care to observe their behaviour and ensure that they are happy.
Laura joined Connie on work experience in 2007 and is now a full-time member of the team.
She provides invaluable assistance to Connie and Lottie with preliminary training from the ground, and has great patience in following through with the kinds of problems (such as traffic issues) that can otherwise stall a horse's progress. She is highly skilled with using the 'clicker' method for purely positive reinforcement. This unusual and effective training aid is a ground-breaking way to help the horse overcome wide-ranging behavioural difficulties.
She is also skilled at breaking ponies to harness with Lottie.
